Frida Johansson
Frida Johansson is an Umeå-based composer and musician who has written music for, among other things, theater (Dramaten, Orionteatern, Ögonblicksteatern, Norrbottensteatern), radio (Julkalendern Knäckarbanketten 2020) and TV games (Unravel, Star Stable). Frida has her roots in folk music and is a member of the vocal quartet Kraja, but has also moved in the pop world with bands such as Säkert!, Barnet, Väärt, Ára and 1900. In the last decade, the focus has increasingly been on composing commissioned music and in 2021 Frida received Stim's prize as Composer of the Year at the Folk & World Music Gala, as well as Region Västerbotten's music scholarship. In 2019, together with Henrik Oja, she received Skap's performance music prize.
During this concert, we get to follow the music's journey through the various projects. Everything from the Västerbottnian forests in Unravel to the world of trolls in Bortbytingen to baroque tones in Knäckarbanketten as well as brand new music for an upcoming documentary film. The music is performed live by Frida Johansson on keyboard/violin, Amanda Lindgren (Sisterhood, Frida Hyvönen, Barnet, Jeff Elliot) on percussion/trumpet/keyboard/vocals, Mi von Ahn (Väärt) on guitar/keyboard/vocals and Sunniva Abelli (Rim , Tradpunkt) on key harp/vocals.
The concert is organized by Kultur på Campus.
