Ájttega
Ájttega, "the ancestors" in Lule Sami, is a dance and joik (traditional style of Sámi singing and chanting) production that invites the audience to Sápmi, which is the region where the indigenous people of northern Scandinavian live. It is a performance based on the artists' personal stories. Through jojk and dancing, you will travel to the places where the ancestors have walked and paved the way for the society we live in today. An indigenous population that wants to preserve Sápmi and its nature for future generations.
Ájttega is a performance that presents Sami culture in an innovative way with respect for its history, heritage and tradition. The show has its basis and inspiration from the "sami village between the rivers", for example nature sounds, joik, costume and dance.
